The Webley is dated 1916 and is still in .455 caliber. The trigger assembly has been replaced. There are NZ/broad arrow marks everywhere on the gun. The gripstap is stamped with the date "9/39" and possibly another date of "10 18." Whether these are repair dates, property acquisition dates (NZ ownership), or some combination I can't say. I'm hoping someone on the Forum is conversant in the subject matter. There is also a Farsi or Afghan mark on the right frame. My friend says it's not Arabic and he's the "Turkish Specialist" at the Library of Congress. But that also makes him a Federal Worker (as am I) so if anyone thinks the marking is Arabic I'd like to know.
