Recently seen interesting Weimar police rework SN 1956g, Schiwy sear safety & Walther magazine safety (cutted off). On Barrel E/33, E/6. Magazine with matching number (Reworking contemporary).

Very uncommon acceptance on right receiver. (1916 Rejected part? The Crown/Letter stamping die was not all-in-one?)

Fascinating Jan, How does the barrel witness mark look? I always thought the crown and letter were a single stamp, but that was an assumption. Do acceptance marks ever appear with the crown and letter slightly out of line? On my sample of 2 they appear well aligned, as if a single stamp. What is others experience?

The witness mark was newly and deep punched. Rear toggle is sightly darker than the rest of gun.

Any idea about proofmarks? Maybe the crowns are all together pre-punched and receiver is passed througt the step "3" only (Vorschrift für die Stempelung...). In step "26a" was the receiver rejected and used much later at another place. It is my hypothesis and I am very intersted for your opinion.

The S stamping and E/6 on rear toggle indicate Simson reworking, but true riddle is remaining "1916". Maybe this pistol was reworked in thirties so not present "1920".
