It is a casting. But real luger frames were made from forgings, not castings.

The 'safe' marking is interesting. The metal looks like an aluminum alloy of some sort.

Interesting item. I tend to lean towards a non-firing replica Luger part, straight from the manufacturers or caster.

Good point, I had forgotten about those.
Weren't they all made by a company called Orimar in Texas? Iirc their actual products were dental equipment?
