Check out this LP08 rig for sale on Ebay (6536671417). There are two problems that I see, one is a modification(boost), the other is a bit of fakery that I have not seen before. Most troubling in that it requires alot more study on the part of new collectors.

The marking/proof on the wood stock does not look right.

The belt strap on the magazine pouch looks new. Also looks like it is too low on the pouch.

Disregarding the rod and the straps, the pouch appears to be a Portugese with an army type belt strap attached. Much worse though is the cartouche on a maple or birch stock. They have finally decided that there is enough potential margin in counterfeiting stocks to have a stamp made.

There are a blue million of the various maple/birch stocks out there and half that many made of black walnut. When the cartouche is added the new collector will probably be sucked in. This is going to have a negative effect on the whole community. Y'all better know what European walnut looks, feels and smells like.

Geo, I noticed the belt loop right away, but can't see the cartouche clearly enough. The stock is tiger stripe or fiddle back maple.
