I know it's probably listed on here somewhere, but what were the total production numbers, by individual years, of World War I era Lugers? I have a near mint condition DWM 1915 and was wondering how many were turned out that year? Also, if you were to guess, how many World War I era Lugers were unit marked? Those have always fascinated me and I love the fact most can be traced back to specific units.
Hi Bobby,
According to Jan Still in "Imperial Lugers" about 105,000 P08's were produced in 1915 and only about 2% were unit marked. Given your stated area of interest you really should get this book. You won't regret it.
Norm
Counting the five German manufacturers, and Swiss, totally how many Lugers were made? including all models...
