Well, many folks don't know that James was a huge gun collector. He sold all of them about 10-12 years ago.
One of the older forum members sold him a large number of lugers over the years :)

About 8 years ago I bought a Tokagypt T-58 from Charlie Justman, Mr. Jones' armorer who handled the transactions. Along with the firearm I received a personally signed letter from Mr. Jones to add to the provenance. According to Charlie who spent time with him at his house, Mr. Jones had a considerable firearm collection. We lost a great actor and great firearm collector and enthusiast.

None, his collection was extremely eclectic, he specifically liked anything that looked odd and unusual. Not bound by any era either, so things spanned from the 1890s to the 1980s (so to say) as long as he liked it at the time. We will show one of his Bergmann Bayards in our new Bayard book...

Ed,

Actually I did know that! A mutual friend of ours (who is now retired) was contacted by JEJ, to help thin out his collection about 12 years ago. I was able to get a K98 out of the collection along with a hand signed letter from JEJ himself. Our Friend assured me that Mr. Jones hand signed every letter.

JEJ was a great man, and man of high intelligence. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. I never got to meet him personally, but our friend, told me many stories of the time he spent with him.

As a token of appreciation, JEJ gave my friend a Star Wars blaster and signed it for him. See below a photo of me holding that very blaster!

God Speed JEJ. Our prayers are with his family and friends.
