Hi,

This has ended up being a lot more work and time than I anticipated. I am hoping to start getting back to the emailed requests with offers soon. I will be starting at the oldest and work forward. I appreciate your understanding and patience. This has turned out to be quite a process and I understand why families decide to send to auction. I'd prefer to offer them privately as much as possible. This honors my father, his collecting, research, authorship, and forming of this community. It also honors my mother who put so much time into editing and helping my father write his books.

I am matching the guns with holsters and accessories as photographed in my father's books. I think he would want them to go together as much as possible.

I asked Ed to take the list down because I have realized it will be easier for me to match, photograph, and then post rather than take orders. I will post here on the forum about how I am going to proceed well before I start.

I am enjoying remembering my father this way, and hope to share that. Thanks for all the help, this community is so much more than I had realized.

Well, so much for asking early and being patient...
Yeah. I reached out very nicely and respectfully and heard nothing. No complaint. I am sure she is overwhelmed and she also only gets one shot at doing it right for her family. I guess I will keep an eye out for the website. Hopefully we get the heads up here when it goes live.

Emailing each person an option to buy isn't a very efficient way to do this. It was probably a mistake to start out that way. The website will give you detailed photos of each gun and prices, so you will be better able to choose which you are interested in. Not all of the guns will go up right away, so keep checking back if you don't see what you are looking for. I've only sold a few so far, most are still available. I will try to post a list of the guns already sold either here or on the website.
A few will end up at rock island, the ones that I am having the hardest time pricing, as well as any that don't sell in a reasonable amount of time. I haven't decided yet for sure on which will go to auction, so no need to ask.
Looking forward to the launch on Jan. 7

I too was disappointed after waiting four months (and passing on two highly coveted guns for my collection) with the belief that I was going to have an email opportunity to buy from Jan's collection. Hoping that I still get the one from the Still collection but now afraid may get shutout all around.

However, I understand that the Still family has never done anything like this before, that it's a monumental process and they are doing the best that they can for all involved. So, I wish them nothing but the very best for the new year and beyond.

Happy New Year to all of the fellow collectors and enthusiasts out there the world over.

Cheers!
