Found yesterday a double date DWM 1918-1920 Police Luger and I thought I would share some pictures. From what I can tell it started out as a 1918 Military Artillery Luger and was put into police service after the war and fitted with a 4 in. barrel. Then it went back to the armory in the early 1930's and was fitted with the Haenel Schmeisser E/L matching mags. The grip strap has a 25 which is also on the 1934 Schambach u. Co. Berlin Police Holster that is xx out. The holster was remarked to the serial number matching the Luger. The G.I. who brought it home scratched his name on the back of the holster. I thought it was interesting to see this pistol have a fairly long service life serving the Army in WW 1 and serve the police between the wars and through WW 2.

Thank you for all the kind comments regarding my latest find. I just thought it looked right and to get two matching mags and bring back papers, well I just couldn't pass it up. Things like this fuel my urge to go out there and search for more hidden collector pieces.

Best regards,
Jeffrey
