I've h ad two, one was very abused but I should have kept it.
Bought my friend lyns from his estate. His notes he had with the pistol.

 

This gun was offered for sale and was discussed on this forum not too long ago. I remembered it from that left grip panel chip. LINK.

 

Correct! Always fun to see the collectors who prior owned your items. He ended up sending it to an auction where I ended up snagging it for considerably less.

 

That is the nicest one I have ever seen! Great addition to your collection.

 

Sharp Nambu! Those particular pistols were of very high quality. Really hope the cleaning rod shows up, pretty irresponsible of the seller to let it get separated from the rig. Thanks for sharing!

Sadly the rod seems to be lost, but they were nice enough to reimburse me for the missing piece. Hopefully I can find one by itself at some point in the future.

 

There are repro. rods out there so be careful. Original rods are not cheap! Nice looking pistol & holster!

 

Oh I'm aware! Thankfully what I was reimbursed should more than cover an original rod when one does hopefully eventually pop up.

Excellent condition with holster and ammo, well done. In my younger days I snagged one with the matching magazine and capture paper. The seller had the holster too- I could only afford the gun! I'm still kicking myself.

Don't you hate when that happens. At least you were able to snag the gun with the papers! Been a hot minute since I've seen a baby come up with capture papers, something to still cherish I'm sure.

 

Yes....I put it in the auction.....expected more....but that's the way the "ball bounces". It was part of a large Japanese WWII firearms collection....assembled in the 1950-70's. The Baby was primo....with holster, 3 rds of ammo, cleaning rod. It had a non-matching 2nd magazine....but sold it separately for $1000. There were 15 handguns, 45 rilfes/carbines, 60 bayonets, 15 samurai swords (sold at the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show), one dagger, 2 helmets, belts, slings, ammo. All sold....except for one rifle, a few bayonets, some ammo, and a few Nambu mags.

 

That is a wonderful piece. I don’t know a whole lot about the Baby Nambu pistols, but that is a really nice one.
