FN 1910 dating?

surprisingly, the most info I've found on dating these guns is here, rather than any browning/FN forum I've seen
I've got an FN 1910 in 7.65, serial number 10441, with the proof mark *E
I've been able to identify the marks using this, including the Controller of Proof Code showing it to be made between 1924-59
is it at all possible to narrow this down further with the serial number?
Thank you for any info you can provide, I'd love to learn more about these guns!

Your pistol‘s slide has the extended arch overlapping the frame in front. That makes it indeed a first-year-of-production gun likely from early 1913.
A close-up of my 8036 below shows what I mean.
Well, now the *E might be the anomaly rather than the serial number...
according to this, the grips are early production(elements are interconnected),pre-1925 models have a larger gap between "patent" and "depose" along with the "de" being lowercase, and the serifs indicate it is in fact, pre-WWI
along with this one I found to have sold a few years back, the first picture in the article shows the same *E marking
very interesting...
Thanks a ton!

Welcome to the Forum! The best way to date your gun is as Absalom stated, by the design of the slide which they discontinued in late 1913. The slide legend, which was used until 1913, as well as the serial number. They used serial numbers in sequential order. This information, thanks to Anthony Vanderlindens book, FN Browning Pistols. I would say your gun is late 1912 to early 1913. I would love to see additional pictures of it.
